Everything you need to know about playing Cosmic Drift — from controls and bosses to accounts and privacy. Browse by category or search below.

  1. Core controls

Tap to fire and long-press to dodge incoming threats. Survive as long as possible while racking up points. The longer you last, the more intense the obstacle patterns become — speed increases, spawns multiply, and eventually a boss encounter kicks in. There's no timer, no lives limit by default, and every run starts fresh.

  2. Tip

Each color behaves differently — some are slower and worth fewer points, others are fast and high-value. Larger obstacles break into smaller pieces when destroyed, creating brief hazard clusters you need to navigate. Learning each color's behavior is key to maximising your score without getting caught off-guard.

  3. Progression

Yes. Special titles and milestone badges are earned during gameplay based on your performance and playstyle. Some are tied to reaching score thresholds, others reward specific in-run behaviors. They're visible on your leaderboard profile and serve as a persistent record of how far you've pushed your skills.

  4. Offline support

Yes — the full core gameplay experience works without internet. Leaderboard syncing, score submission, and social features like sharing your rank card do require a connection. If you're offline after a run, your score will sync automatically the next time you're connected, as long as you're signed in.

  5. Cosmic Drift is free to download and play. Occasional ads appear to support the development of the game. There's also an optional rewarded ad available after a run ends — watching it gives you a one-time revive to continue from where you died. It's always opt-in, never forced mid-run.

  1. Boss fights

At certain score milestones during a run, a powerful enemy appears with its own unique attack patterns, movement style, and visual identity. These aren't just bigger regular obstacles — they're tactical challenges that demand you apply everything you've learned in the run so far. Defeating a boss earns you a reward and progresses you further into the run.

  2. There are 6 unique bosses, each with their own personality, visual design, and combat behavior. Each boss has multi-phase attacks and distinct movement patterns that escalate as the fight progresses. More bosses are planned in future updates — subscribe to our update channel to stay informed.

  3. Unlockable mode

The Boss Arena is a dedicated game mode that lets you replay any boss you've previously encountered and defeated during a regular run. It's isolated from the main run — you go straight into a boss fight without needing to reach the score milestone first. Great for practice, challenge runs, and testing your skills head-to-head.

  1. No sign-in needed

No. The full game is available without creating an account. Guest play is fully supported — you can complete runs, encounter bosses, and explore all gameplay mechanics without signing in. Creating an account via Google Sign-In unlocks optional social features: your scores sync globally, you appear on the leaderboard, and you can share your rank card.

  2. The leaderboard ranks the top players worldwide by high score. Sign in with Google to save your progress and have your score synced in real time. Rankings are tiered — Pro, Elite, and Champion — and update live. Your highest score from any run is what counts, and you can share your rank card directly from the app to challenge friends.

  3. Yes. Cosmic Drift collects only the minimal data needed to operate the game and leaderboard features. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

  4. Permanent action

Account deletion is available directly from Settings → Account → Delete Account for signed-in users. This permanently removes your authentication data, leaderboard profile, and all gameplay records. The action cannot be reversed. For a full step-by-step guide, see our Account Deletion page.

  1. Visual setting

Use the theme toggle on the main screen to switch between light and dark appearances. Both are designed to look great — the dark theme is a deep-space aesthetic, while the light theme gives a clean, daytime feel. The preference is saved automatically between sessions.

  2. Sound settings are in the Settings menu. Music and sound effects can be adjusted independently — so you can have ambient soundtrack on but explosions off, or vice versa. Both sliders remember your last preference. The in-game soundtrack adapts dynamically to the intensity of the current run.

  3. Yes. Control sensitivity and tap zones can be adjusted from Settings to match your grip and playstyle. Cosmic Drift is built around zero-lag precision touch — the customisation options let you dial in the exact feel that works for you, whether you're a thumb player or prefer a fingertip style.
